The Trailsman #336: Utah Outlaws ReviewIt's 1860 and Fargo is in Utah Territory with the job of protecting a stagecoach line that has already been robbed of bank money. The plan is for Skye to ride inside the stagecoach and surprise and bring down anyone who tries to rob it.This plan goes all awry because ,unknown to him,he has beed drugged, and is out of it when attacked.
The failure for him to prevent the holdup,is not taken well by the townspeople as they believe he was drunk and not drugged.
This leads to some self preserving, intensive detective work on Fargo's part to keep him from doing a "rope dance" administered by a vigilante group out to revenge a couple of popular townsmen who they are convinced Fargo is responsible for their deaths.
The story is filled with lots of fast action, shootouts, ambushes and a bevy of interesting well developed Old West characters. Some are honest, but others are not; and The trailsman is pretty much on his own to find out what's really going on.
After Fargo wraps up this harrowing experience,he is tempted to spend a little time reaping some of the rewards he knows are his to enjoy;but the call to be back on the trail is too much for him to resist.
This Trailsman series has excellent artwork on the covers that in fact portray scenes fron the episodes;and they are to be commended for this. The top scene of riders approaching the large house in a winter is right from the story;as is the scene of Fargo inside the stagecoach. However,it seems to me that the amount of space inside the stage is out of proportion;but a great scene ,none the less. The Trailsman #336: Utah Outlaws Overview
