Undercover Babies (Harlequin Intrigue) ReviewTravis "Mac" MacBeth has lost his job because he was a whistle-blower. Now he is a P.I.Wouldn't you know that on a cold and very wet night in a dark alley he gets run into by a shivery, wet woman [in expensive black underwear he finds out later] and finds an old homeless man he has befriended dead.
This starts him on the trail of this gals past to help find out where she came from and who she is.
"Grace" as he calls her suddenly finds out that she has the stretch marks of a pregnancy but no memory of a husband or child. She just has this feeling of urgency.
There is some question of whether she is being followed and possibly in danger of her life.
So she and Mac take off across the states from Indiana to Florida [with a few hormones in evidence].
Mac also thinks that the police are keeping him under survalience to try to discredit him even more.
There seems to be an unknown assailant hot on their trail and then they run into "Elvis". Trouble again rears its head.
Mac wonders if Grace really knows what is real and not from her faulty memory. Could what she fears be real or just a jumbled dream. Was her past more unsavory that she lets on?
